Seven Pakistani police killed in attack on DI Khan training school
A brutal attack in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province left seven police officers dead and 13 others wounded. The assault took place late Friday night in Dera Ismail Khan, where attackers tried to smash a car packed with explosives into a police training school. The explosion was followed by a deadly gunfight, claiming the lives of five attackers and seven officers.
As chaos erupted, the attackers set fire to a nearby NADRA office, burning several vehicles in the process. Over 200 police officers and recruits at the training school were evacuated, but the violence didn’t stop there. Recent weeks have seen a spike in attacks across KP, with police being targeted in several districts. Amid this, violent protests in Lahore and terror attacks from the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are pushing Pakistan’s security forces to the breaking point.
