Shaktikanta Das highlights India’s resilience amid global uncertainty

Shaktikanta Das, former RBI Governor, praised India’s resilience and growth amidst global chaos. Speaking at the 85th Kale Memorial Lecture, he pointed out how the pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, and disrupted supply chains have forced nations into self-reliance and regional trade deals.

India, with its reforms and policies under Atmanirbhar Bharat, has sailed through these challenges and is set to contribute nearly one-fifth of global GDP growth. The country has already signed 14 free trade agreements (FTAs) and is negotiating more with the US, EU, and others.

Das highlighted India’s growing manufacturing sector, expanding at 5.9% annually, driven by tech adoption, FDI reforms, and infrastructure projects like industrial parks. India’s journey to becoming a global economic powerhouse is unstoppable.
