Shan State chief minister visits Hsipaw, supports local projects
Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung conducted a series of visits across Hsipaw Township yesterday to assess reconstruction efforts and meet with various community groups. The official emphasized collaborative approaches between government agencies and residents to restore the area while distributing essential food and water supplies during a morning gathering at the township hall.
Throughout the day, U Aung Aung toured medical facilities, religious sites, educational institutions and administrative offices while providing monetary recognition to healthcare workers, police officers, teachers and firefighters. The chief minister observed vaccination campaigns at Hsipaw People’s Hospital and Basic Education High School No. 1, discussed citizenship documentation procedures with immigration personnel at Konetaw Monastery, and made religious offerings at Shwe Zedi Monastery.
The official visit concluded with a stop at Pawgyo Muhtaw Pagoda in Bawgyo village-tract, where U Aung Aung contributed funds toward comprehensive renovation work at the historic religious structure. During meetings with department heads, he stressed priorities including healthcare access, transportation infrastructure, educational services and consistent availability of necessary commodities.
