Shubman Gill leads India to Test sweep over West Indies

Shubman Gill bagged his first Test series win as India captain on Tuesday, smashing the West Indies by seven wickets in Delhi. India needed 121 to win, starting day five at 63-1, and wrapped it up in the first session with KL Rahul not out on 58. West Indies’ Roston Chase took two wickets but couldn’t stop India as they chased down 124-3, with Rahul hitting the winning four. India swept the series 2-0, following their massive win in the first Test.

Gill, 26, is steering a team in transition after key retirements. His leadership has been solid since taking charge in May, and he’s been on fire with the bat. Kuldeep Yadav earned the player of the match for his 8 wickets, while Siraj took 10 wickets this series. Despite a strong West Indies fightback in the second innings, India’s bowlers dominated, securing the win.
