Sonakshi Sinha dives dark in Jatadhara
Actress Sonakshi Sinha will portray a dramatically different character in the Tamil film Jatadhara, which releases on Nov. 7. She plays Dhanapisachini, an intense and commanding figure in the supernatural thriller directed by Venkat Kalyan. Sinha said she had waited years for such a role and thanked the filmmakers for their vision in casting her.
The actress recalled how people often described her as having an Indian face, with some calling her Bihar ki beti. Her father told her she was Hindustan ki beti and could convincingly portray characters from any state. Sinha said the project lets her explore an unfamiliar side of herself and she looks forward to audience reactions.
The film weaves supernatural elements with genuine human emotions, creating fear that stays with viewers after the story concludes. Actor Sudheer Babu described his role as among the most demanding he has undertaken. The cast also features Divya Khossla and Shilpa Shirodkar, with the movie opening in Telugu and Hindi.
