Student dies after train hits in Gopalganj
A train struck and killed a recent high school graduate on Friday morning in Gopalganj Sadar’s Char Pathalia area. Sakil Ahmed Faisal was crossing railroad tracks while wearing headphones when the Tungipara Express hit him around 6:45 a.m. The 19-year-old from Vennabari Paschimpara village had completed exams at Gopalganj Government College before the accident occurred.
His brother Rashed said Sakil walked each morning after prayers but never returned from his routine trek. Railway police from Rajbari delivered his remains to relatives after authorities prepared an inquest at the scene. Sub-Inspector Safur Ahmed confirmed the investigation while station manager Ratna Bedi handled the transfer. The victim’s father works abroad, and Sakil lived in Borashi Union.
