Tarique Rahman expresses sorrow over deadly Mirpur factory fire

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman expressed deep sorrow over the deadly fire at a garment factory and chemical warehouse in Mirpur, Dhaka, that claimed at least 16 lives on Tuesday. In a condolence message posted on his verified Facebook and X accounts, Tarique prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased and a swift recovery for the injured.

Calling the incident “heartbreaking,” he noted that such tragedies continue to happen, leaving behind grief and unanswered questions. He emphasized the urgent need to ensure workplace safety and prevent deaths caused by negligence.

Tarique urged authorities to take immediate action for transparency in the investigation and hold those responsible accountable. He extended his condolences to the victims’ families and all those affected by the fire.
