Tatmadaw regains control of Setawgyi dam, averts disaster
The CRPH, NUG, and associated PDF terrorists have launched destructive actions across Myanmar, targeting the country’s governance and development. They attacked security outposts, using local civilians as human shields, prompting security forces to strategically retreat to minimize damage. The terrorists temporarily seized several key locations, including military bases, a dam, a cement factory, and a mining site in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region.
In response, security forces successfully reoccupied these areas, including the Setawgyi Dam and Alpha Cement Factory, by November 7 after sustained counterterrorism operations starting in October. The Setawgyi Dam, vital for irrigation and hydroelectric power, had been misused by the terrorists, resulting in significant crop losses. However, the Tatmadaw successfully regained control, ensuring the restoration of essential services and regional stability.
