Theegala sinks in water, misses bogey putt at Baycurrent Classic

Sahith Theegala was flying high at 3-under, sitting in the top three, until he dunked his ball in the water and missed a bogey putt on the 18th. That stung, dropping him back to a 1-under 70, putting him at 8-under and Tied-8th, four shots behind leaders Max Greyserman and Xander Schauffele.

Greyserman’s even-par 71 and Schauffele’s 67 left both at 12-under 201. Theegala’s neck injury had sidelined him, but he’s back and fighting.

He birdied early but a double on 18 ruined his charge. With good ball striking but bogey problems, his shot at a big finish isn’t over.

It’s anyone’s game as five players trail by three shots, all eyeing the top spot in Japan’s lone PGA Tour event.
