Touhid Hossain calls for NAM unity, reform in Uganda
Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain called for unity and reform of the decision-making process among NAM (Non-Aligned Movement) members to address shared vulnerabilities. Speaking at the 19th Mid-Term Ministerial Conference in Kampala, Uganda, he highlighted Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening institutions, ensuring rights, and upholding accountability following last year’s uprising.
Touhid emphasized the need to invest in empowering women and youth to build a strong nation. He urged NAM members to focus on unity and trust to uphold the founding ideals of equality, solidarity, and justice. He also reaffirmed Bangladesh’s support for Palestine and discussed the country’s ongoing humanitarian efforts with the Rohingyas.
