Troost-Ekong vows Super Eagles will fight for World Cup spot

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has promised the team will give their best in the CAF Play-Off Tournament for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The competition will be held in Morocco from November 13 to 16, 2025, and is a precursor to the intercontinental play-offs in Mexico next March.

Nigeria secured its spot in the playoffs with a 4-0 victory over the Benin Republic. Troost-Ekong expressed the team’s happiness with the opportunity to qualify, despite missing out on an automatic ticket. He emphasized their readiness to face every challenge as they aim for the 2026 World Cup, starting with a semi-final match against Gabon.
