Trump threatens action against Hamas over Gaza killings

On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that the U.S. would take action against Hamas if the group continued killing civilians in Gaza. He wrote on his Truth Social platform that if Hamas violated the ceasefire agreement, the U.S. would have no choice but to “go in and kill them.”

Trump did not clarify who he meant by “we” but had previously stated that U.S. military intervention would not be needed. His comments came after reports of executions and shootings by Hamas following the ceasefire agreement.

Admiral Brad Cooper, the top U.S. commander in the Middle East, also urged Hamas to stop attacks on civilians and adhere to the ceasefire. Despite these warnings, Trump has previously minimized the violence, calling it a problem with “a couple of very bad gangs.” The ceasefire, brokered by the U.S., remains fragile amid ongoing tensions.
