Union minister inspects healthcare, donations in Tatkon

Myanmar’s Information Minister U Maung Maung Ohn visited Ohnbin village in Tatkon Township on Saturday to assess medical services and infrastructure repairs following damage from Typhoon Yagi. Healthcare teams from two hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw provided treatment and supplies to residents from nine villages at Mingala Yanaung monastery. The minister addressed locals about state media efforts to support disaster victims through information campaigns and entertainment programs.

U Maung Maung Ohn examined the construction of a 300-foot bridge over Lenge Creek to replace one destroyed by the typhoon and reviewed repairs to the Pwesa diversion weir. He donated funds for renovations at Thakho Taung Maha Atula Lawka Yanaung pagoda and directed officials to develop the site as a tourist destination alongside Nyaungbintha Resort to create employment opportunities for area residents. The pagoda sits approximately 20 miles from Tatkon.
