Ursula Owusu-Ekuful slams NDC as liars, eyes NPP post
Former Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful accused the National Democratic Congress government of winning the 2024 elections through deception, rather than genuine public preference. The New Patriotic Party candidate for General Secretary said the opposition lost power because internal problems eroded voter confidence, but the NDC used false promises to secure victory.
Owusu-Ekuful made her remarks on Monday in a social media statement while announcing her candidacy for the party’s top administrative post. She characterized the current administration as a caretaker government that misled voters, and she pledged the NPP would rebuild public trust before the 2028 elections.
The former Ablekuma West lawmaker said Ghanaians would demand change by 2028. She called herself a proven fighter ready to energize the party’s base for the next electoral contest.
Owusu-Ekuful faces competition from former lawmakers Sylvester Tetteh and Eugene Boakye Antwi for the General Secretary position.
