Ahead of his return to the Indian squad for the ODI series against Australia, Virat Kohli shared a cryptic message on social media, sparking speculation about his future in cricket. He wrote, “The only time you truly fail is when you decide to give up,” which quickly went viral with over 739K views in just an hour.

India’s tour to Australia begins on October 19, with three ODIs and a five-match T20I series. Kohli is returning to the team after a break, focusing on ODIs and the IPL with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has 14,181 runs in 302 ODIs and last played in the IPL 2025 final, where RCB won their first title.

With the ODI World Cup still two years away, uncertainty remains about Kohli’s and Rohit Sharma’s future. Gautam Gambhir urged the team to focus on the present and hoped Kohli and Rohit would have a successful tour.
