Warrican optimistic despite West Indies’ tough task against India

West Indies vice-captain Jomel Warrican knows the road ahead is tough after his team ended Day 2 at 140/4, trailing India by 378 runs. But he’s not giving up, saying the team has the talent to keep fighting on Day 3.

Warrican took 3-83 and spoke honestly at the press conference, stressing that the key to a comeback lies with Shai Hope and Tevin Imalch, who remain unbeaten at 31 and 14. He believes the pitch is getting tougher, but they’re prepared to face the challenge head-on.

The spinner compared bowling in India to Pakistan and Bangladesh, stressing discipline and patience. Despite the pitch not turning as expected, Warrican stays focused, hoping the West Indies can post a strong total and turn the game around.

He’s drawing strength from legends like Brian Lara and Sir Viv Richards, who’ve told him that belief and a solid game plan are the keys to success.
