Jadeja reflects on ODI snub, focuses on team success
Ravindra Jadeja, India’s vice-captain for the ongoing Test series, addressed his exclusion from the ODI squad for the Australia tour, revealing that the captain, selectors, and coach had a discussion with him about the decision. Despite the snub, Jadeja remains focused and eager to contribute whenever called upon.
After taking three wickets on Day 2 in New Delhi, he played a crucial role in reducing West Indies to 140/4, with the visitors trailing by 378 runs. Reflecting on his omission, Jadeja said he understands the team’s decisions, adding that he remains driven to play in future tournaments like the World Cup.
Jadeja emphasized that personal milestones matter less to him than his team’s success, focusing on impactful performances that help India win, especially in major ICC tournaments. As vice-captain, he’s content guiding younger players and adapting to the team’s needs, whether it’s batting or bowling.
