Yogi Adityanath denies new GST or tax on carpets

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath set the record straight on Saturday, denying any new Goods and Services Tax (GST) or taxes on carpets. Speaking at the 49th International Carpet Fair in Bhadohi, he emphasized that no such tax had been imposed.

He also highlighted the government’s efforts to boost growth through recent free trade agreements with the UAE and the UK. These deals, he said, will open up new opportunities for the people of Uttar Pradesh.

Adityanath praised India’s artisans for their role in shaping the nation’s global economy and assured that the government remains committed to supporting traders and entrepreneurs. He also pointed out that the government has revitalized agriculture, textiles, and the MSME sector, which have become major sources of employment.
