Yankasa USA honours Sheikh Dr. Yahaya Amin for Islamic leadership

The Yankasa Association of USA recognized Sheikh Dr. Yahaya Amin for religious leadership and community service. The Islamic Foundation for Peace and Development’s founder received the honor at a symposium held at the Yankasa community mosque in the Bronx. Association President Ibrahim Abdulai Masigan praised the deputy supreme leader of the Supreme Council for Tinaniya Islamic Affairs for advancing Islamic education and interfaith cooperation.

The award came as Sheikh Amin visited the United States to attend the annual maulid celebration honoring Prophet Mohammed. The spiritual leader delivered sermons at mosques in Yonkers and Newark while meeting with Ghanaian Muslim communities. Spokesman Ibrahim Anyass Ahmed said the recognition reflects the sheikh’s commitment to peace and social development in Zongo communities across Ghana and abroad.
