Zahid responds to MIC’s decision to exclude BN leaders from AGM
Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said it is not unusual for a political party not to invite leaders from other parties to its general assembly. He explained that MIC’s decision to exclude him and other leaders could be because the party wants to focus on resolving internal issues.
He emphasized that the MIC should be given space to address these problems during its AGM. When asked if BN was prepared for MIC to leave the coalition, Ahmad Zahid said BN is open to any decision made by MIC, and they would respect the party’s choice.
MIC president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran confirmed that the party’s AGM on November 16 would focus solely on internal matters and would not invite leaders from other parties.
