Zahid to announce BN candidates for Sabah election soon

Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Zahid Hamidi is ready to reveal the coalition’s candidates for the upcoming Sabah state election, including those from MCA, though he’s keeping the exact seat count under wraps. While MCA president Wee Ka Siong hasn’t announced which seats his party is targeting, Sabah MCA head Teah Heok Kuin has hinted at Segama, Tanjong Kapor, and Karamunting.

Zahid confirmed that MIC won’t be putting forward candidates due to the small Indian population in Sabah. He added that most of BN’s picks will be fresh faces from professional backgrounds, with a few veterans also in the running.

Zahid also hinted at potential post-election talks with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, despite past conflicts. The election, set to happen by December 7, comes as Umno faces its last chance to prove its strength before the 16th general election.
