Zarif Abrar advances to quarterfinals at Bangladesh World Tennis Tour

Bangladesh’s tennis star Zarif Abrar is making waves internationally. After winning in Rajshahi, he’s continued his winning streak at the 35th Bangladesh World Tennis Tour Junior J-30, reaching the quarterfinals. Zarif beat Singapore’s Arjun Singh 6-2, 6-4 to secure his spot in the next round.

Next up, Zarif faces India’s Shounak Chatterjee, the tournament’s No. 2 seed. Shounak earned his place by beating Thirumurthy from the U.S. after the latter retired due to injury in the third set. Other quarterfinalists include China’s Chuan Ding, Singapore’s Robert, and India’s Tejas Ravi.

Bangladesh’s girls were eliminated in the second round. Sumaiya Akter lost to Asal Azim from the Maldives, and Halima Jahan fell to China’s Tianran Dong.
