Ziyambi defends Zanu-PF push for Mnangagwa term extension

Ziyambi Ziyambi, the Zanu-PF Secretary for Legal Affairs, defended the party’s decision to extend President Mnangagwa’s term beyond 2028. He said the decision follows the party’s constitution and was passed through the proper channels. The proposal started in local meetings and was discussed at provincial and national meetings. Ziyambi added that once the decision is made, it is final, and members must accept it. Critics worry it could lead to changes in the constitution, but party leaders say it reflects the views of the members. President Mnangagwa has said this will be his last term as required by the constitution.
