14 prisoners linked to 2009 BDR mutiny released from Kashimpur prison
Fourteen prisoners convicted in the 2009 BDR mutiny case have been released from Kashimpur high-security prison in Gazipur. Thirteen were freed from Central Jail-2, and one from Kashimpur High Security Jail. The Senior Jail Superintendent, Abdullah Al Mamun, confirmed the release but did not comment on the order.
The prisoners had been convicted under the Explosives Act related to the BDR mutiny of February 2009. Their bail documents arrived on the night of October 14, and after verification, they were released on the afternoon of October 15.
