Adani Group’s Godda power plant resumes full operations for Bangladesh supply
The Adani Group has restored operations at the second 800MW unit of its Godda Power Plant in Jharkhand after engineers addressed a technical malfunction that triggered a shutdown. Both generating units at the 1,600MW facility can supply electricity to Bangladesh through the Bangladesh Power Development Board, with current transmission reaching 765MW.
Plant officials stated the second unit experienced difficulties but returned to service following repairs. The facility stands ready to increase output to approximately 1,500MW whenever the power board requests additional capacity, though seasonal demand patterns have kept consumption relatively modest. The Godda installation operates under an exclusive long-term contract to provide energy to Bangladesh, serving as an important component of the country’s imported electricity supply.
