Amit Shah hails NSG on 41st Raising Day, announces new hub in Ayodhya
Home Minister Amit Shah praised the National Security Guard (NSG) as India’s “strongest shield against terrorism and organised crime” during its 41st Raising Day ceremony in Manesar, Haryana. He paid tribute to the NSG personnel who sacrificed their lives, calling them heroes on behalf of the nation.
Shah acknowledged the NSG’s vital role since its formation in 1984, citing key operations such as the Akshardham temple attack, the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, and various hostage rescues. He also announced a new NSG hub in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, expanding the force’s presence to seven major hubs nationwide.
The Home Minister highlighted the government’s “zero terrorism policy” under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, pointing to steps like the amendment of the UAPA and NIA Acts, efforts against terror funding, and the ban on the PFI. He credited the government’s actions, including the abrogation of Article 370 and operations like ‘Sindoor’ and ‘Mahadev,’ for targeting terrorist infrastructure.
Additionally, Shah emphasized the role of CAPF personnel in environmental efforts, noting the planting of 6.5 crore saplings since 2019. He also laid the foundation for a Special Training Centre worth Rs 141 crore to train commandos in counter-terrorism.
