BJP releases first list of 71 candidates for Bihar polls
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of 71 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 after finalizing its seat-sharing arrangement within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The list features prominent leaders, including two current Deputy Chief Ministers, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, who will contest from Tarapur and Lakhisarai, respectively.
Former Deputy Chief Ministers Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi have been fielded from Katihar and Bettiah. International shooter and sitting MLA Shreyasi Singh will contest from Jamui. The BJP also gave tickets to former MPs Ram Kripal Yadav (Danapur) and Sunil Kumar Pintu (Sitamarhi).
Other candidates include Sidhartha Saurav from Bikram, former minister Prem Kumar from Gaya City, and Health Minister Mangal Pandey from Siwan. The list balances experienced leaders with new entrants, reflecting loyalty and electoral performance. The remaining candidates will be announced soon.
