Anwar gifts new phones to activists after Gaza mission
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim kept his promise by handing out new mobile phones to nine Malaysian activists from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Thousand Madleens to Gaza (FFC x TMTG) mission. The phones were presented by Anwar’s political secretary, Datuk Azman Abidin, who was at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to welcome the activists back.
The Prime Minister had vowed to replace their phones after they were thrown into the sea during their mission. Azman confirmed that Anwar fulfilled his commitment by providing new phones to all the activists.
The group, including eight Malaysians, had been part of a humanitarian mission involving 150 activists from 25 countries. Their vessels were intercepted by Zionist forces last week and towed to Israel, where they were detained.
