Army seizes foreign firearms, explosives in Dhaka raid
Army personnel confiscated foreign weapons and explosives from a passenger train at Airport Railway Station on Sunday morning. Soldiers worked with the National Intelligence Agency and Railway Police to search the Banalata Express arriving from Rajshahi at 11:15 a.m.
The operation yielded eight pistols, 16 magazines, 26 bullets, 2.39 kilograms of gunpowder and 2.23 kilograms of plastic explosives. Authorities detained four suspects and transferred them to the police for questioning.
The Inter Services Public Relations announced the seizure in a statement. The military pledged to maintain operations against terrorism, sabotage and criminal activity to protect citizens and national security.
