Assamese expats set to testify in Zubeen Garg death probe

Three more Assamese expats who were present at the yacht party in Singapore during Zubeen Garg’s final moments are set to testify before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday. Sushmita Goswami, Debojyoti Hazarika, and Pratim Bhuyan are scheduled to provide their statements, according to officials.

Two other Assamese expats, Tanmoy Phukan and Abhimanyu Talukdar, also appeared before the SIT. Phukan is believed to have booked the yacht, while Talukdar, who leads the Assam Association in Singapore, reportedly coordinated the event.

The SIT has recorded statements from seven NRIs so far and continues to investigate the events leading up to Garg’s death on September 19. The probe involves coordination with Singaporean authorities to determine if foul play was involved.
