Bangladesh faces pressure after changes in final ODI against Afghanistan
Bangladesh’s captain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, lost the toss and Afghanistan chose to bat first in the final ODI at Zayed Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Bangladesh made four changes after the series was already lost. “Mohammad Naim and Shamim Hossain are in, plus fast bowlers Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana,” Miraz said at the toss.
He admitted their batting in the last match was poor, but stayed hopeful. “It’s a fresh game, same pitch. The top seven batters have to step up and take charge,” he added.
The teams lined up: Bangladesh – Naim, Hassan, Shanto, Hridoy, Miraz (capt), Nurul (wk), Shamim, Rishad, Rana, Islam, Mahmud. Afghanistan – Gurbaz (wk), Zadran, Atal, Alikhil, Shahidi (capt), Omarzai, Nabi, Rashid, Ghazanfar, Kharote, Sami.
