Bangladesh, IOM launch migration manual and report in Dhaka
The Government of Bangladesh and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) launched the Manual on Migration and the Bangladesh Migration Snapshot Report in Dhaka on Wednesday. The Manual is a guide for policymakers and stakeholders to improve migration governance, covering key migration concepts, policies, and themes like gender and human rights. It serves as a training tool for officials and researchers. The Migration Snapshot Report provides data on migration trends and recommendations, helping stakeholders make informed decisions. Bangladesh, a major source of migrant workers, received $27 billion in remittances in 2024, highlighting the importance of migration to its economy.
