At least six Pakistani soldiers and 12 Afghan civilians were killed in a clash near the Afghan border on Wednesday. The violence broke the brief peace after weekend clashes killed dozens. The Taliban said over 12 civilians died in Afghanistan as fresh fighting erupted. Pakistan’s military claimed to have repelled an attack along the Balochistan border, killing 15 to 20 Afghan Taliban fighters, but did not mention civilian deaths. Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have risen after Pakistan demanded action against militants operating from Afghan territory, which the Taliban denies.
