Bashundhara Shuvosangho leads anti-child marriage, anti-drug rally in Gaibandha
Bashundhara Shuvosangho members and local residents gathered in Palashbari, Gaibandha, on Wednesday to say “No to child marriage and drugs.” They held a public discussion and formed a human chain along the Gaibandha–Palashbari road. Teachers, journalists, doctors, and NGO representatives joined the rally. The discussion, led by Suruj Haque Liton, featured speeches from various community leaders, including Mahbubur Rahman Milton, who stressed the importance of preventing child marriage at the family level, and Rupsa Begum, who highlighted the vulnerability of Gaibandha to child marriage. Concerns over growing drug abuse were raised, with calls for stronger anti-drug campaigns.
