Bangladesh to host 2nd Women’s Kabaddi World Cup in November

Bangladesh will host the 2nd Women’s Kabaddi World Cup from November 15 to 25 as part of the “Festival of Youth 2025.” The tournament will take place at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, organized by the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council.

Originally planned for Bihar, India, in June and then moved to Hyderabad in August, the event was postponed due to scheduling issues with the Pro Kabaddi League. The Women’s Kabaddi World Cup returns after a 13-year gap, with India having won the inaugural edition in 2012.

The 2025 tournament will feature 14 teams, including Bangladesh (hosts), Argentina, Chinese Taipei, Germany, the Netherlands, Iran, India, Japan, Kenya, Nepal, Thailand, Uganda, Zanzibar, and Poland, with Pakistan as a standby team. Preparations are underway to ensure smooth arrangements for teams, including travel, accommodation, and security. This marks the first time a global women’s kabaddi tournament will be held in Bangladesh.
