ICT prosecutor seeks death sentence for Hasina and Kamal

International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam has requested the death sentence for former dictator Sheikh Hasina and ex-home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. He submitted the plea on Thursday after concluding arguments in a “crimes against humanity case” related to last year’s uprising.

Tajul left the decision regarding the fate of former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, a state approver and the third accused, to the tribunal. The petition was heard by a panel of judges led by ICT-1 Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder.
