Bangladesh to launch online bail bond system for quicker releases

Dr. Asif Nazrul, the Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser, announced that starting October 15, the bail bond process will go online to reduce harassment and expenses. Currently, after receiving bail, an accused person must go through 12 steps before release, often facing delays and bribe demands. The new online system will allow bail orders to be sent directly from the court to the prison with just one click.

Nazrul explained that this reform, developed without external help and funded by the government, aims to streamline the process. He also highlighted the government’s financial stability, citing large deposits in key banks. The announcement was made during the launch of the Attorney General’s Office Internship Programme at the Supreme Court Auditorium.
