Bangladesh, Uganda sign pact for foreign office talks
Bangladesh and Uganda signed an agreement on Wednesday to start Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between the two countries, creating a regular platform for discussions on bilateral cooperation.
The signing took place during the 19th Mid-Term Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Kampala, Uganda, where Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Md Touhid Hossain, led the delegation.
At the conference, Hossain emphasized the need for unity within NAM and reforms to improve its decision-making. He also highlighted Bangladesh’s focus on empowering women and youth to build a strong nation.
Later, Hossain attended the NAM Ministerial Committee on Palestine, reaffirming Bangladesh’s support for a two-state solution and urging help for Rohingya refugees.
