BJP names Maithili Thakur, Anand Mishra in second list of candidates
The BJP released its second list of 12 candidates on Wednesday, including Maithili Thakur and retired IPS officer Anand Mishra. Thakur, a folk singer known for her contributions to Maithili and Bhojpuri music, will contest from Alinagar in Darbhanga. She joined the BJP on Tuesday evening, and her candidature aims to strengthen the party’s cultural and youth connection in Bihar.
Anand Mishra, who previously served as an IPS officer, has been fielded from the Buxar Assembly seat. He returned to the BJP after briefly joining Jan Suraaj. The BJP has announced 83 candidates so far, with the final list of 18 candidates expected soon.
