Borisov triggers government crisis, three options ahead, Ganev predicts

Sociologist Dimitar Ganev discussed the first major government crisis since the mandate began, following Boyko Borisov’s statement. He sees three possible outcomes.

The least likely option is early elections, as Ganev believes no player, including GERB, wants them. He suggests that President Radev may change the electoral landscape.

The second option involves a significant transformation in the cabinet, but Ganev sees this as difficult due to the complex parliamentary majority.

The most likely option, according to Ganev, is resolving the crisis through personnel changes, including replacing several ministers. He concluded that the government is facing a tough situation.
