Brazil mentally collapsed in loss to Japan, Ancelotti says

Coach Carlo Ancelotti said Brazil “mentally collapsed” during their 3-2 loss to Japan on Tuesday and warned they need to fix their issues before the World Cup. Brazil blew a two-goal lead as Japan fought back hard in the second half. A defensive error on Japan’s first goal set the tone, and Ancelotti felt his team couldn’t recover mentally after that.

Ancelotti called the collapse Brazil’s biggest mistake and said they lacked the attitude to stop Japan’s comeback. It was his second loss since taking over in May, following a World Cup qualifying defeat to Bolivia. Despite the setback, Ancelotti remains focused on trying out different line-ups, stressing it’s better to make mistakes now than in the World Cup.
