Bruce Springsteen praises Stephen Graham’s portrayal of his father in biopic

Actor Stephen Graham has received high praise from Bruce Springsteen for his portrayal of the rocker’s father, Douglas Springsteen, in the biopic Springsteen: Delivery Me From Nowhere. Springsteen praised Graham’s performance, calling it a powerful representation of his father’s emotional complexity and physicality. He noted that Graham perfectly captured the troubled nature of his father, who struggled with mental illness and alcoholism, particularly in his older years.

In the film, Graham’s portrayal of Douglas Springsteen was lauded for its authenticity, with Springsteen remarking that Graham’s resemblance to his father was striking. Additionally, Jeremy Allen White, who plays Springsteen, shared his experience of preparing for the role, including learning to play a vintage guitar gifted by Springsteen and bringing a jump rope to set, mistakenly thinking it would help him build stamina for the performance scenes.
