Cherargei claims Kalonzo may ally with Ruto soon

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has suggested that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka may soon form a political alliance with President William Ruto. In a post on his X platform, Cherargei criticized Kalonzo’s National Delegates Conference on October 10, claiming it lacked the energy of a major national event. He predicted that Kalonzo’s future would likely involve a political relationship with Ruto.

Kalonzo, who is positioning himself as a leading opposition figure for the 2027 elections, has consistently stated that he does not intend to join Ruto’s government. Cherargei’s comments come amid shifting political dynamics, including Kanu chairman Gideon Moi’s recent move to support Ruto after stepping away from active politics.

Despite Cherargei’s remarks, political analyst Pauline Njoroge dismissed the idea of Kalonzo joining Ruto, arguing that Kalonzo is best placed to challenge for the presidency from the opposition.
