Faith Kipyegon sets US mile record to win second Tiffany Athlos title
Faith Kipyegon continued her dominance in middle-distance running by winning her second consecutive Tiffany Athlos title with a record-breaking women’s mile. On October 10, 2025, Kipyegon clocked 4:17.78 to claim the Tiffany Crown, defeating top competitors like Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay and American record holder Nikki Hiltz.
The Athlos, known as the “Super Bowl” of track and field, is an elite women’s-only competition. Kipyegon’s victory capped an incredible season, following her world record in the 1500 meters at the Prefontaine Classic and her fourth world title in Tokyo. She earned $60,000 for the win, with a $250,000 bonus for any world records.
Kenyans, including Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, celebrated Kipyegon’s success, praising her as a source of national pride.
