Chittagong University to recount votes after Chhatra Dal accusations of rigging

The Election Commission at Chittagong University decided to count votes again for Suhrawardy Hall and Atish Dipankar Hall on Thursday afternoon. This was after some said there was a mistake in the vote count. Prof Ariful Haque Siddiqui, a member of the Election Commission, said the votes would be counted again with polling agents present.

He also confirmed there were no complaints about other elections held the day before. Earlier, Chhatra Dal students held the Vice Chancellor, Professor Md Kamal Uddin, in the Engineering Faculty building for hours, claiming vote rigging. After promising to review the votes, he was freed.
