Chiwenga leaks $3.2B corruption dossier, accuses Mnangagwa allies of looting state coffers
A confidential report by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, presented to Zanu-PF’s politburo on September 17, has surfaced, accusing powerful businessmen of embezzling over US$3.2 billion from Zimbabwe’s state funds. Chiwenga names Kudakwashe Tagwirei, Wicknell Chivayo, Pedzisayi “Scott” Sakupwanya, and Delish Nguwaya as central figures in the scheme. He claims that Tagwirei’s company, Sakunda Holdings, secretly holds a 45% stake for Zanu-PF but has failed to pay any dividends.
The vice president criticizes these businessmen for manipulating Zanu-PF structures and creating a parallel power system funded by stolen state wealth. He calls for their immediate arrest, warning that failure to act could lead to the party’s collapse. This leak highlights growing divisions within Zanu-PF and a significant challenge to Mnangagwa’s leadership.
