Congress in turmoil over ticket distribution as rifts deepen in Bihar

Internal rifts have emerged in the Congress party over ticket distribution ahead of state elections. Ajita Pandey, the party’s Women District (Rural) President, accused the party of favouring BJP defectors over loyal Congress workers. She broke down in an interview, claiming the Congress would be finished if such practices continued.

Pandey also criticized senior leader Ashok Gagan’s denial of a promised ticket, allegedly due to pressure from Congress Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh. She expressed frustration over the treatment of grassroots workers who have dedicated years to the party.

Pandey’s remarks have sparked outrage within the Bihar Congress, with local leaders calling for central leadership intervention. Meanwhile, a standoff over seat-sharing persists within the Mahagathbandhan, with Congress pushing for more seats than the Rashtriya Janata Dal is willing to offer.
