Sri Lankan PM Harini Amarasuriya begins official visit to India

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya will visit India on Thursday for a two-day official trip. This is her first visit to India since taking office. She will meet Indian political leaders to discuss bilateral issues and cooperation in various sectors.

Amarasuriya will deliver the keynote address at the ‘NDTV World Summit’ in New Delhi and visit IIT Delhi and NITI Aayog to explore collaborations in education and technology. As a former student of Hindu College, she will also visit her alma mater.

Her visit continues high-level exchanges between India and Sri Lanka, strengthening their bilateral relationship. It follows discussions on maritime cooperation and defense ties between the two countries, including joint efforts to tackle transnational challenges.
