Croatia, Austria and Slovenia push for more US tourists

Croatia, Austria, and Slovenia have launched a collaborative tourism initiative named Alps-Adriatic-Amazing to attract more visitors from the United States. The campaign, presented at the Signature Travel Show in Las Vegas, highlights the region’s natural landscapes, cultural history, and culinary offerings. It is a joint effort by the national tourist boards of the three countries, with co-financing from the European Travel Commission.

Kristjan Stanicic, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, stated that the partnership showcases destinations with shared values and a high-quality tourism product. He noted that the project aims to position Central Europe and the Mediterranean as an authentic and diverse area for American travelers, reinforcing Croatia’s standing in distant markets. The United States represents the most significant long-haul market for Croatian tourism.

The promotional activities include both business-to-business and consumer-focused events. At the Las Vegas conference, a key luxury travel event, the countries emphasized sustainable and authentic experiences. They were joined by several regional destination organizations, including representatives from the Vipava Valley, the Julian Alps, Karst, Umag, and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
