Croatia sees 4.1% rise in cruise passengers despite fewer trips

Croatia has experienced an increase in cruise passenger traffic this year, with over 858,000 passengers recorded in the first nine months, a 4.1 percent rise compared to the same period last year. This growth occurred despite a decrease in the total number of voyages. A total of 616 trips were made by 81 foreign vessels, representing a 9.5 percent increase in ship numbers.

The most visited ports were in Dubrovnik-Neretva and Split-Dalmatia Counties, with the Port of Dubrovnik remaining the most frequented destination. The highest number of cruise ship trips were registered under the flags of Malta, the Bahamas, and Panama. The data indicates a trend of larger passenger numbers per ship, suggesting a market shift toward higher capacity vessels.
